What Is Crisis Intervention?

 Our Crisis Intervention services are designed to provide rapid response, stabilization, and support during moments of acute distress.

Services include:

  • 24/7 crisis response availability 
  • Immediate clinical assessment 
  • De-escalation and stabilization support 
  • Safety planning and risk reduction 
  • Coordination with caregivers and supports 
  • Referral and linkage to ongoing care

Crisis Intervention provides immediate, short-term mental health support to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral distress.

At Amana Healthcare Services, crisis services focus on:

  • Stabilizing the immediate situation 
  • Reducing risk of harm to self or others 
  • Restoring a sense of safety and control 
  • Connecting clients to appropriate follow-up care 

Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, based on clinical need.

Acute Emotional Distress

Overwhelming anxiety, panic, anger, or emotional dysregulation that significantly interferes with functioning.

Safety Concerns

Thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, or behaviors that place the individual or others at risk.

Severe Psychiatric Symptoms

Experiencing hallucinations, delusions, extreme mood instability, or disorganized thinking.

Behavioral Escalation

Situations involving aggression, inability to self-regulate, or loss of control requiring immediate intervention.

Crisis Intervention services may be provided in:

  • The home 
  • Community settings 
  • Schools 
  • Residential Treatment Centers (RTCs) 

This allows us to respond where the crisis is actually occurring.

When appropriate, we work closely with caregivers and Legal Authorized Representatives (LARs) to:

  • Provide guidance during the crisis 
  • Support de-escalation strategies 
  • Strengthen safety planning 
  • Ensure continuity of care after the crisis

Clinicians use evidence-informed techniques to reduce distress, stabilize emotions, and restore safety.

4. Care Coordination & Follow-Up

We connect clients and families to appropriate ongoing services, including therapy, skills training, case management, or higher levels of care when needed.
